partycles – balloons and party supplies
Partycles is a family owned business run by manager Pip Crombie. Funnily enough they specialise in all manner of Balloons and Party Supplies and they’re located at 886 North Road, East Bentleigh.
A business of over 12 years this company has serviced a wide variety of clients ranging from multi-billion dollar corporations and organisations, through to local schools and clubs, and to the excited Mum looking at decorating her child’s first birthday. With such a vast reach of potential clients you would think that inking the “ideal client” would be easy. “Quite the contrary” manager Pip says and would hazard a guess at “somebody nice” would fit the bill. Digging a little more deeply it’s plain to see that this industry is extremely unique and even putting down “Corporate Clients” or “Kid’s Parties”, the resulting work, stress, and profit could be, and surprisingly is, identical.
A dedicated team of over 10 employees power this 6 day a week retail shop (Tues-Fri 10 to 6, Sat 9:30-5) and this company also has the ability to make money 24/7/365 by means of their website’s online store. However as good and as detailed as the online cart is, the attention and traffic it gets is minimal and will sure to feature prominently in the “priorities” section in this case study.
For now, Partycles relies heavily on “word of mouth” advertising, display advertising (they have pretty awesome street frontage), previous customers, professional event organisers and cross promotion with other businesses.
A strategic well thought out social media strategy, could do this business wonders, maybe.
